Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the influx of P to lakes, ponds and harbors in particular and reuse the sludge as a soil improver by mixing iron chloride and iron sulfide as flocculant to the waste water containing phosphorus then subjecting the precipitation cake formed to mechanical primary dehydration thence mixing quick (slaked) lime and magnesia lime and performing secondary dehydration.
CONSTITUTION: Iron chloride and iron sulfide are added as flocculant to the waste water containing phosphorus so that the Fe amount becomes 5 times or more with respect to the P amount in the waste water. Next, the cohered and prcipitated cake formed is subjected to mechanical primary dehydration, after which quick (slaked) lime or magnesia lime is added at 30W40 parts per 100pts. of the 100pts. of the precipitated cake with stirring and mixing, thence it is subjected to secondary dehydration. Since this method enables the manufacture of iron salt by the utilization of the waste acid iron from the treating process for the iron alone, waste materials may be effectively utilized. Further, the resulted precipitated cake is dry powder form to the extent of permitting bagging, and therefore its spraying on the ground is easy as well.
