Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the reappearance of malodorous gas in case of waste liquor disposal by a method wherein an alkaline wash waste liquor disposing the malodorous gas is oxidized with ozone and neutralized.
CONSTITUTION: Malodorous gas is introduced to a lower portion of a washing tower 3 from a blower 2, contacted with a powder activated carbon suspending alkaline wash liquid in a counter current shape in a filled layer 7, changed into clarified gas and exhausted from an exhaust port 8. The wash luquid is circulated and scattered by means of a pump 5, but one portion is extracted from piping 9 as a waste liquor, and shifted to an oxidation tank 12 from a piping 11 after activated carbon is separated in an activated carbon separating tank 10. Ozonized air from an ozone generator 13 is dispersed into the oxidation tank 12 by means of an air dispersing pipe 14, the waste liquor is aerated with ozone, and malodorous substance in the waste liquor is oxidized, and changed into odorless substance. The waste liquor is moved into a neutralization tank 16, neutralized with acid from an acid storage tank 17, and discharged from a drain pipe 18.
