Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the quantity of Rohto extract alakloid with high sensitivity and accuracy, by using a gas chromatograph unit provided with a thermal ionization detector.
CONSTITUTION: Crude Rohto extract alkaloid extracted from a crude drum or a medicinal preparation is dissolved in an organic solvent to make a solution. This solution is introduced, as it is, into a gas chromatograph unit equipped with a thermal ionization detector. Otherwise, after homatropine, ephedrine, codeine or the like is added as an internal standard to the solution, this solution is introduced into the gas chromatograph unit. Measurement is then performed according to a conventional method. The Dexil 300GC, OV-17, QF-1, (Thermon 100)+KOH or the like is used as a column filler. According to the present method, very high sensitivity to alkaloid is attained and the measurement can be effected to the minimum of about 5ng.
