CONSTITUTION:The command given from variable speed alteration processing part 18 is applied to capstan control part 22 as well as to brake solenoid 12 to give the control to capstan motor 10. Thus a slower speed is secured for magnetic tape 5 than the reproducing speed at that moment. And the presence or absence of the dropout in the video signal reproduced from tape 5 is detected at dropout detecting part 13 and every vertical flyback time. At the same time, the circuit phase of rotary head 6 is detected through tack head 7, and the calculation is given via the logic circuit to the outputs of both part 13 and head 6. The calculation output is applied to control part 22 and solenoid 12, and the backlash signal is supplied to motor 10 from part 22 for a fixed time. After this, the motor driving signal is stopped, and flywheel 11 is controlled by solenoid 12 to secure the mechanical restriction for motor 10.
