Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent waste of high-pressure water flowing through pressure pipe while keeping a required amount of air to be supplied to water wheel, through provision of a jet-pump operation control valve which is capable of controlling the flow of driving water to be supplied to jet pump in response to change in water head.
CONSTITUTION: As the characteristics of water wheel, in an operational range in which it is not necessary to supply air to draft tube 6 connected to water-wheel casing or in the state that operation of water wheel is stopped, jet-pump operation control valve 10 is kept in its fully closed position. In this state, if water wheel comes into operation requiring air supply under a low water head, electromagnetic selector valves 15, 16 are turned ON and piston 11a of servomotor 11 pushes piston 12a of servomotor 12 upward by the aid of pilot valve 13, so that valve 10 is shifted to its fully opened position. Subsequently, when water head becomes high, valves 15, 16 are both turned ON. Resultnatly, valve 10 is shifted to its half-opened position, so that driving water flow to jet pump 7 is restricted.
