Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve S/N of signals having vertical correlation, by cascading the first attenuator ATT circuit, a one-horizontal period delay circuit, and the second ATT circuit and by connecting the output of the second ATT circuit and the input of the delay circuit. CONSTITUTION:ATT circuit 2 which multiplies a signal level by factor (1-alpha) (0<alpha<1), delay circuit 3 which has gain 1 and delays a signal by the one-horizontal period, and ATT circuit 4 which multiplies a signal level by factor alpha are cascaded to input terminal 1 of the video signal, and the output of circuit 4 is connected to the input of circuit 3. In this constitution, if video signal Vi(n) supplied to terminal 1 has vertical correlation, this signal is taken out to terminal 5 as signal V0(n) of the same level. Meanwhile, when noise is supplied to terminal 1, noise is attenuated because noise is random and has no vertical correlation. Consequently, signals having vertical correlation such as the synchronizing pulse and the burst signal have the S/N improved.
