Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of the draw defect even in case of cold rolled very thin steel strip, and to improve the yield and productivity, by making the unpierced concave flaw nearby the singular point of the strip material before being fed to the cold rolling pass, and after carrying out the cold rolling pass, by making this concave flaw to be the pierced hole for indicating the singular point.
CONSTITUTION: A concave flaw 3 is made nearby the singular point of the strip material 1 before being fed to the cold folling pass, using the drill, etc.; then, this strip material 1 is cold rolled and hereby the pierced hole 2 is formed from the concave flaw 3. That is though the concave flaw 3 is an unpierced hole, it is pierced in the direction of thickness by the cold rolling work. The length of long side l of this pierced hole 2 can be made shorter as compared with the conventional method, hence, the generation of the draw defect can be prevented. On purpose to surely form the pierced hole 2 from the concave flaw 3 by the cold rolling work, the depth of the concave flaw 3 is desirable to be 30% or more of thickness of the strip material 1 before the cold rolling pass; however, if the depth is excessive, the length of long side l of the pierced hole 2 becomes longer.
