Abstract
PURPOSE: To selectively separate In from an acidic soln. of sulfuric acid contg. In and other metal with high efficiency by contacting the soln. to an org. solvent contg. 2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester at a specified pH value or below.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous acidic soln. of sulfuric acid contg. In and other by- product metal ions is contacted at pH≤1.0 to an org. solvent such as mineral oil or toluene contg. 2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester as an extracting agent to selectively extract the In at a high extracting rate. After the extraction the org. solvent is contacted to an aqueous soln. of hydrochlric acid or sulfuric acid to easily back-extract the In.
