Abstract
PURPOSE: To fine non-metallic inclusions and enhance the fatigue resistance of the captioned steel by adding silicon deoxidizers into the molten steel in a ladle, blowing inert gas and specifying the total 0 amount in the molten steel under stirring then adding flux thereto to control the slag to the composition stable to the Al in the molten steel thence performing Al deoxidation.
CONSTITUTION: After Si deoxidizers such as ferrosilicon of low Al and low Ti are added to the molten steel 3 in a ladle 1, a cover 2 is placed and the spacing above the slag 5 is made Ar gas atmosphere. Next, Ar gas is blown through the lance 4 immersed in the molten steel 3 to accelerate Si deoxidation reaction under stirring and reduce the total 0 amount in the molten steel to 40ppm or less.
