Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily measure the insulation of a material to be measured by applying an asymmetrical AC voltage to the material to be measured and detecting the existence or nonexistence of a minute value in increment of a DC flowing a resistor for detecting the increment.
CONSTITUTION: A DC voltage and an AC voltage form a DC power source DC and an AC power source AC respectively are superimposed, and applied to an insulated material X of a material to be measured. When the voltage of the AC power source at the time of starting the insulation test is made zero and the voltage of a boosting transformer TR on the AC power source side is increased by means of a voltage regulator SR, a current flowing through a minute current increment detecting resistor r increases stepwise. The stepwise variation indicated in an indication instrument M means that air bubbles or gaps are present in the material to be tested, and expresses the insulation thereof.
