Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically detect the concentration of hydrogen peroxide, by electrolyzing the hydrogen peroxide solution by taking the cathode potential constant and measuring the electrolysis current.
CONSTITUTION: The potential of the test electrode (cathode) is set to the potential selectively causing the reduction reaction of H2O2 (about +600mV or less to saturated calomel electrode base, e.g., within about -200mVW+600mV in acidic water solution including metal ions) at about electrolysis temperature 50°C or less, and the electrolysis current is measured after about 0.5W10min (preferrably 1W5min) after the start of electrolysis, and the concentration of H2O2 is detected by using the corelation between the said current value and the concentration of H2O2.
