Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a titled copolymer with good oil resistance and tensile property of a vulcanized article, by a method wherein 2-chlorobutadiene-1,3, an unsaturated nitrile and 1-chlorobutadiene-1,3 are subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a xanthogen disulfide compound.
CONSTITUTION: (a) 89wt% 2-chlorobutadiene and (b) 10W40wt% an unsaturated nitrile such as (meth)acrylonitrile are subjected to emulsion polymerization in the presence of 1W10wt% a xanthogen disulfide, pref. dimethylxanthogen disulfide, diethylxanthogen disulfide, diisopropylxanthogen disulfide or the like shown by the formula (wherein R, R' are 1W12C aliphatic group, aryl, aralkyl, alycyclic group) at a polymerization temp. of, generally, 5W50°C, pref. 30W45°C to obtain a titled copolymer.
