Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out color recording by plane scanning and observe the continuous supply of a recording medium and progress of the recording process by tracing in reciprocating manner a shuttle bar provided with an impulse pump type head block. CONSTITUTION:Inks respectively within ink tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4 of respective colors are guided to respective ink heads 11-16, 21-26, 31-36 and 41-46. A plurality of head blocks each consisting of ink heads of respective colors, and are placed on the same shuttle bar at a predetermined interval. The shuttle bar 5 is connected to, for example, a known simple harmonic motion drive system or the like, and subjected to reciprocating motion. In accompaniment with the movement of the shuttle bar 5, the vibration plate of the corresponding head is controlled by the control of the control circuit, and the ink drops are injected toward the recording medium 7 and color recording of one picture element row is completed during one-way movement of the shuttle bar 5.
