Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the high-speed operation of a printing hammer with a small sized electromagnetic plunger by connecting the printing hammer and a movable part of the electromagnetic plunger with a wire-like slender connecting rod. CONSTITUTION:A printing hammer 19 is attached to a carrier 13 in such a manner that it can freely move in the direction departing from a print drum 3. The back end of the printing hammer 19 is screwed with a nut 20 which is pressed forward with a compression spring 21 in the direction that the printing hammer 19 departs from the print drum 3. The carrier 13 is provided with an electromagnetic plunger 22 corresponding to each printing hammer 19, and a movable part 23 of the plunger 22 and the nut 20 are connected with a wire-like slender connecting rod 24. On mov ing the movable part 23 in the direction of the print drum by passing a current through a coil 25 of the plunger 22, the hammer 19 strikes a print dot 18 of the print drum 3.
