Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic receptor panchromatic in the visible light region, by providing a charge generating layer using a perylene pigment and a charge generating layer using copper phthalocyanine.
CONSTITUTION: A 0.1W5μ thick charge generating layer 12 containing a perylene pigment, 5W30μ thick charge transfer layer 13 containing an electron donor (e.g., hexamethylenediamine) and an electron acceptor (e.g., maleic anhydride), and 0.1W5μ thick charge generating layer 14 containing copper phthalocyanine (or lead phthalocyanine) are laminated in this order to form a photoreceptor. The above construction permits the photoreceptor to be made effectively panchromatic by combining the perylene pigment having little sensitivity to light above about 600nm and copper phthalocyanine having low sensitivity to light below about 600nm and using them as separate charge generating layers.
