Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a receptor with superior durability by forming an insulating layer made of p-hydroxybenzoic acid resin on a photoconductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive layer and an insulating layer made of p-hydroxybenzoic acid resin (polymer having the repeated unit of the formula) are laminated on an electrically conductive support. The insulating layer is preferably formed by coating a dispersion of the resin having a melting temp. of about 200W500, preferably 250W450°C onto the photoconductive layer and by heating the coated dispersion of fusion-bond the resin. The photoconductive layer is preferably made of amorphons silicon or cadmium sulfide (or zinc oxide) dispersed in heat resistant binder resin.
