CONSTITUTION:Either one among 0.03-0.15% V or 0.01-0.10% Ti and 0.01% B is further added to steel contg. 0.15-0.40% C, <0.60% Si, 0.2-1.5% Mn, <0.010% S, 0.2-1.5% Cr, 0.1-1.0% Mo, 0.005-0.08% Al and 0.005-0.05% rare earth elements such as La and Ce basic components. By adding rare earth elements to a high tensile steel contg. Cr, Mo, V, Ti, B, etc. the form of sulfide type inclusions such as MnS is controlled, and a high tensile steel with improved sulfide corrosion crack resistance and 60-85kg/mm<2> yield strength is obtd.
