Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure the airtightness between a frame body and the object of processing and facilitate welding and other works under water, by attaching a vapor phase region forming frame body of glass structure with open bottom to the object of processing under water by means of a strip band, and pumping air into the bag member in the contact part to dilate it.
CONSTITUTION: A vapor phase region forming frame body 1 with open bottom furnished with a ceiling window 2a, a front window 2b and both side windows 2c, 2d mounted with hard glass and an opening part 9 contacting with the cylindrical side face of a structure to be welded 7 under water are wound around the structure 7 with strip mounting bands 3, 3', and firmly fastened with surface fasteners 10, 11. The bands 3, 3' are made of flexible material without having elongation property, and the part contacting with the structure 7 is fitted with a rubber airtight bag member 6. Air is pumped into the bag member 6 from a valve 4 to dilate it so as to cause the frame body 1 to contact tightly with the structure 7. By charging pressure gas from a tube 12 into the frame body 1 to replace with the water in the frame body 1, welding and other works may be done easily within the frame body, and air leak and invasion of water may be prevented due to the existence of the bag body 6.
