Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve thickness deviation in the vicinity of the rear end of round blank pipe easily, by bulging out the round blank pipe into the groove engraved in the caliber of press roll of the press piercing method, and fitting this bulge-out part to the roll disposed closely to the press roll exit side, and pushing back mainly around the mandrel. CONSTITUTION:A square bloom 4 is pressed in by means of a push-in device 10 in the axial direction between press rolls 1,1'disposed in the vertical direction, and a plug 3 is advanced into the bloom 4 to manufacture a round blank pipe 4'. In this case, a bulge-out part 6 having a specified bulge-out amounts is formed by means of at least one pair of grooves engraved opposedly to a caliber 2 of a roughly circular form of the rolls 1, 1'. Then, the bulge-out part 6 is pressed by means of rollers 14, 14' disposed closely to the rolls 1, 1' at the exit side of a piercer. Due to this pressing force F1, a force of F2 is applied to a mandrel 3' by way of pipe 4', and a force F3 directed to the center of the caliber 2 is applied to the plug 3 supported integrally to the mandrel 3', so that the thickness deviation of the pipe 4' may be improved as the retreat proceeds. At the same time, the bulge-out part 6 is formed with occuring no problem in next process.
