Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable performing of a continuous molding, maintaining the softness of a sheet produced by means of an extruder, by a method wherein a molding press and the No.2 press can be moved by each pitch at a speed in synchronism with the extrusion of a sheet in an advancing direction of the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet (a), which is extruded from a T die 1 of an extruder A, is fed by means of a conveyor B into between a lower mold 15 and an upper mold 16 of a mold press C, while it is heated by a heating device E. The conveyor B is shortened to the minimum thereupon, and a distance between the T die 1 and the mold press C becomes shortest. Most of the heating device E also is pulled upward. A mold-clamping is conducted with cylinders 19 and 20 actuated thereupon to form the sheet (a). The sheet (a) extruded from the T die 1 is placed on a belt 6, having an adiabatic property, of the conveyor B, and besides, it is heated by the heating device E. This causes the sheet to possess the softness which is almost equal to the one remaining immediately following extrusion from the T die 1 and is well enough to allow for molding.
