Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the active temperature and purifying effect of a catalyzer to purify exhaust gas by continuing the supply of fuel for reducing the speed of an engine when the catalyzer is within the range of the active temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A sucked air amount sensor 2, a throttling switch 3, a revolution number sensor 4, a car speed sensor 5, an oxygen density sensor 2, and a catalyzer temperature sensor 8 in the downstream of an oxydation-reduction catalyzer 11, are provided in an internal combustion engine 1 and its suction and exhaust passages 12 and 13, and the injection amount of a fuel injection valve 10 is controlled on the basis of an arithmetic circuit 9 into which signals therefrom are inputted. When a speed reduction is detected by the throttling switch 3, the fuel from the injection valve 10 is intercepted for economizing the fuel cost. But, when the temperature of the catalyzer is detected within the range of the active temperature by a temperature sensor 8, the fuel control is released and adjusted in the circuit 9 for supplying fuel even at the time of speed reduction.
