PURPOSE:To rotate a motor smoothly by giving a speed command of a fine speed- setting device until the motor begins to rotate; by detecting the starting of the motor; and by giving the command of an acceleration regulator. CONSTITUTION:When a speed command is given from a fine speed-setting device 4 by closing an operation switch 5, the current in a motor 7 gradually increases by the action of a control device 8 having an integrating element. When the current has reached the value corresponding to a load torque, the motor 7 begins to rotate. Then, a rotation detector 10 detects the start of the rotation and a switch 2 is closed. Thereafter, the signal from a speed setting device 1 is applied to an operating point 6 via an accerelating regulator 3, and the motor 7 is smoothly accelerated. Since the motor speed can follow as commanded without quick acceleration to recover lag time at starting, the shock on the machine can be reduced.
