Abstract

PURPOSE: A heat-evolving composition that comprises calcium oxide and a specific hydrate salt, which are mixed when applied to cause smooth reactions without water, thus being useful as a chemical heater for hot compress and boddy warmer.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Calcium oxide with particle sizes of larger than 100 mesh, preferably 30W3 mesh, and (B) at least one hydrate salt with particle sizes of less than 10 mesh, preferably less than 30 mesh, selected from sodium sulfate 10 hydrate, sodium silicated and sodium carbonate 10 hydrate are separately put in vessels respectively and they are mixed when used to evolve heat. The molar ratio of component A and B is 1:10-3W50, preferably 2×10-2W25. Moreover, the addition of (C) a filler chemically inactive to components A and B such as silica or alumina in an appropriate amount helps the control of the reaction and heat retention.
USE: It is applicable to an instant insecticide preparation which utilizes the vaporization of pyrethroid compound in which high temperatures are instantly required.
