In this case, the shielding gas 7 is blown from the back and side faces of the work 1 as back shielding gas or it is mixed with the O2 gas 4 to shield the cutting surfaces, whereby spherical burning-up at the cutting of the foamed metal is prevented and the cut surfaces that can be subjected to practicable use may be obtained.
