Abstract
PURPOSE: To omit the conventional removing work for the decarburized layer, and to improve the workability, by recarburizing the decarburized layer of the hot rolled steel material and the extruded steel shape according to the gas carburizing method, and then, by drawing these steel materials.
CONSTITUTION: The surface scale, of the hot rolled steel material and the hot extruded steel shape comprising the carbon steel or the alloy steel, is removed first of all. This steel material is put in the recarburizing furnace and the inside of the furnace is evacuated to vacuum, and is sealed with nitrogen; after that, the inner temperature of the furnace is raised. The methanol of weak carburizing power is dropped into the furnace; while the CO2% is analyzed by the infrared analyzer/ controller taking the methanol as the carrier gas, the propane gas is introduced into the furnace to control the CO2% and CO% to desired values. Hereupon, the operation is performed under the specified heat cycle and the specified furnace pressure. That is, in the part A the heating is applied, in the part B the recarburization is processed, in the part CWG the annealing is processed, and in the part H the cooling is applied finishing the recarburization treatment.
