Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density multi-orifice recording head whose discharge responsivity and discharge stability are hard to be lowered by providing a tapered part on the side of a plate with grooves or a substrate where discharge orifices are to be formed and further providing discharge orifices on the tip of the part. CONSTITUTION:A heater substrate 3' of a recording head is formed by providing an electrothermal converter 5 etc. on the surface of a material (metal and the like) with high thermal conductivity through the intermediary of a layer for controlling heat flow rate. A liquid chamber 6 formed by a groove 2 is provided in the position opposed to the electrothermal converter 5 and with the same pitch as that of the converter 5, both communicating with a common chamber 7. On the end surface of a plate and the substrate are found faces D-E provided with discharge orifices 4, while near to the orifices 4 being formed tapered parts 8 and 8', which presents a structure where sticking or staying of the recording liquid is hard to take place. The discharge orifices have the density of several-several-tens of orifices per one millimeter, thus as array of several thousands of discharge orifices being formed.
