Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the storage life of cell by preventing the emission of gas from zinc negative electrode by the procedure in which an adhesive capable of well bonding with metals is coated on zinc negative electrode surface not facing positive electrode and then heat-sealed with a hot-adhesive film as outer film.
CONSTITUTION: An epoxy adhesive is coated on the one side surface of the zinc sheet 4, excluding the terminal portion 8, to form the layer 5 by solidification, and then the layer 5 is laminated with the ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer-dominated hot adhesive film 1' which is, in turn, heat-sealed at the center of the outer film 1 with a terminal hole for cell. Then, the assemblage is laminated with the separator 6 of much the same size as the zinc sheet 4 and the manganese dioxide positive electrode mixture 2 and further laminated with the outer film 1 whose one side is heat- sealed with the positive electrode current collector 3, and then the peripheral portion 9 is heat-sealed and electrolyte is injected to obtain a cell. The hot-adhesive film 1' used includes ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylenic copolymers, etc.
