Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote both decrease of drive lead wires and prevention of crosstalks in the display panel, by using a combination of MXes capable of selecting of a macro region in the first matrix MX and a micro region in the second MX and providing an anode that causes the selected region to emit light.
CONSTITUTION: The first matrix MX for selecting the macro region comprises X, Y electrode elements of X1, X2... and Y1, Y2.... Lead wires are taken out from the rexpective elements. The second MX is constituted by x, y electrode elements of x1, x2... and y1, y2... respectively, corresponding to each of the MX electrode elements of the first X and Y. An electron which has passed through a region construction by the X1 and Y1 electrode elements passes through a region constructed by the x1 and y1 electrode elements causing fluorescent substances on the fluorescent screen to emit light, however, in the other regions no emission of electron is caused because an accelerating electric field is not produced on the cathode face. In this way, a crosstalk can be prevented.
