Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the soot adhered to a downstream portion of a dust collector effectively by flowing backward the ambient air to a dust collector.
CONSTITUTION: A damper 9 provided to an inlet side of an electric dust collector 4 is closed and a damper 11 provided to a suction flow passage 13 branched from an inlet side of a dust collector 4 in a downstream side is opened. Subsequently, the ambient air is flowed backward through a chimney 5 and a flue 8 by a suction blower 10. In case of this backward flow, an electric dust collector 4 is maintained in a charged condition and the soot released along with the air from an inner wall surface of a chimney 5 or the like is flowed backward into an electric dust collector 4 to remove dusts and the air completing the dust removal is exhausted out of a system. In this case, in order to remove dusts completely, a filter 12 is arranged in a suction flow passage 13. When the back flow operation is completed, a damper 11 is completely closed and a damper 9 is opened to resume the operation of boiler.
