Abstract

PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of occlusion-discharge cycle of hydrogen by a method wherein alloy capable of occluding hydrogen is held in sponge-form porous metal bodies and sealed in a container. CONSTITUTION:Sponge-form porous metal body 1 of three-dimensional structure is formed of metal skeleton (a) and has openings (b). Such porous bodies 1 are piled so that their air holes 4 are connected to one another and enclosed in container 6 made of metal material having large heat resistance. Lid 8 is fitted to container 6 by means of screw 9. At the position opposite filter 7 is fitted hydrogen transport pipe 10. In this hydrogen storage 6, its cycle life is remarkably lengthened.
