Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit the concurrent formation of unit electrode plate and long lead portion by cutting the exposed core portion of a belt-like electrode plate having exposed hole-less at side edge core and holding active substance into a specific form with a fixed width. CONSTITUTION:The core material 11 having as the lead plate is coated with the active substance 12 to form the belt-like electrode plate 10, and then the plate 10 is cut at the dotted line 13 into the unit electrode plates 16. Furthermore, the core material serving the lead is cut off along the dotted line 14 at the holeless portion 11' of its side edge and the lead plate 15 formed integrally with the unit electrode plate 16 is provided. The lead plate 15 is shaped in a rhombic or strip form staggering with the lead plate of the adjacent unit electrode plates to obtain formation without loss.
