Abstract
PURPOSE:To cause a dimension between electrodes of the cathode not to be changed when the temperature of a filament rises, by securing a base metal in such a manner as to surround both sides of the filament. CONSTITUTION:To an almost central part of a ribbon-shaped filament 7, a base metal 10 is secured. Here the base metal 10 is firmly attached in such a manner as to surround both sides of the filament 7. For instance, the base metal 10 is formed into a flatten cylindrical shape, in which the filament 7 is placed, eventually enclosing the both sides of the filament 7. In this way, a distortion of the filament 7 due to the on-off operation can be equalized not causing a warp to be generated in the filament, thus to eliminate a change of the distance between electrodes.
