Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an emulsion-type hair cosmetic giving moderate moistness and improved brushability to the hair, by compounding methylphenyl silicone oil, branched ester oil, hardened castor oil derivative, lower alcohol and water as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 0.5W10wt% of a methylphenyl silicone oil of formula I (n is 3W30) or II (R is CH3 or C6H5; a is 1W27; b is 1W27; (a+b) is 3W30; a/b is 1/9W9/1), (B) 0.5W10wt% of a branched ester oil of formula III [X is R (R is 6W12C branched alkyl), etc.; R1,2 are H or 1W3C alkyl], (C) 0.1W5wt% of a hardened castor oil derivative as an emulsifier (a nonionic surface active agent), and (D) remaining parts of a lower alcohol and water. The amount of the (C) componenet is 4W40wt% of (A)+(B). The hair cosmetic thus obtained gives dry and non-greasy hair.
