Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The luminous tube 2 is inserted and supported in the outer tube 1 which is kept in high vacuum and the thermal switch consisting of the series circuit of the resistor 3 and the bimetal switch 4 is connected in parallel to the luminous tube 2. The resistor 3 is set so that the maximum temperature at the thermal switch operation arrives at 1,600 or more degrees. When xenon gas is leaked in the outer tube 1 due to failure of the luminous tube 1, the resistor 3 is blown due to the discharge caused by this gas. As a result, the stabilizer in an external circuit is prevented from being damaged.
