Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply and speedily inspect and regulate the main optical axis by using an inspection regulator which permits being readily transferred to be accurately aligned with the main optical axis of a head lamp of an objective motor vehicle being in a parked state.
CONSTITUTION: A tripod 2 which permits simply moving a bar 1 to be set in a proper manner is held horizontally with respect to a motor vehicle stopped in opposition thereto. The bar 1 can be vertically moved and horizontally oscillated with respect to the tripod 2, and graduated symmetrically with respect to the center thereof. The bar 1 is provided at both sides thereof with slidably supported main optical axis inspection regulator units 3, 3. A front wall of an outer case of each of the inspection regulators 3, 3 is provided with a bore 4a in the central portion thereof for use in measuring the illumination of a head lamp of the motor vehicle, bores 4b, 4c in the right and left portions thereof for use in measuring the eccentricity of the main optical axis in the right and left directions, and bores 4d, 4e in the upper and lower portions thereof for use in measuring the eccentricity of the main optical axis in the upper and lower directions. Photocells are also provided in the inspecting regulators 3, 3. This inspection regulator can be used without moving an objective motor vehicle, and permits omitting installation work therefor.
