Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the photo branching and coupling device of small insertion losses by securing an interference filter to one end face of the cylindrical lens decreasing at the square of radius from the centerline toward the outside circumference and bonding the other one lens at said filter surface. CONSTITUTION:The exit beams lambda1-lambda4 from a fiber 11 are entered to the first lens 6. The light beam of the wavelength lambda1 is transmitted by the band-pass filter 9 in this lens and is entered to a fiber 14. Next, the remaining three wavelengths lambda2-lambda4 are reflected and are entered to the filter 7 of the next lens, where the beam of lambda2 is transmitted and is entered to a fiber 12. The remaining beams of lambda3, lambda4 are entered to the filter 9 in the next lens, through which the wavelength lambda3 is transmitted and this wavelength enters a fiber 15. The remaining beam of lambda4 is reflected thereby and transmits through a filter 16 in the next lens and enters a fiber 13. In this way, the insertion losses at the respective wavelengths become even and the photo branching and coupling device of low insertion losses as a whole may be obtained.
