Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve temperature sensing precision by correcting emissivity of a body surface, by putting a unit measuring the emissivity and that making automatic corrections of the emissivity of an infrared-ray thermometer into interlocking operation when taking contactless measurements of a body temperature and body-surface emissivity. CONSTITUTION:When projection energy w0 is radiated from emissivity correcting light radiator 1 to body 2 to be measured, absorbed energy wepsilon is absorbed and reflected energy wu is reflected and detected by infrared-ray detector 3 of a PbSe pyroelectric type, etc. Then, operator 4 finds energy wepsilon absorbed by measured body 2 to calculate emissivity epsilon (=wepsilon/w0). On the output side of detector 7 detecting energy wepsilon radiated from measured body 2, a voltage divider is provided which consists of variable resistance Repsilon and fixed resistance R, and on the basis of emissivity (epsilon), the rotation angle of this variable resistance Repsilon is controlled by servomechanism 6 to fix resistance Repsilon' satisfying 1+Repsilon'/Repsilon=epsilon<-1/41>. Thus, the output of the infrared-ray detector is corrected to a constant value without reference to variation in emissivity (epsilon), so that an accurate measurement of temperature will come into effect.
