Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-S/N reproduced picture without being disturbed by the great jitters by phase-modulating a luminance signal in a color video signal, by amplitude-modulating a color signal and then by recording and reproducing both the signal by frequency-division multiplexing. CONSTITUTION:The output of phase modulator 5 phase-modulated by a luminance signal extracted by low-pass filter 2 is supplied to adder circuit 8. A color signal extracted by band-pass filter 3 is supplied to synchronizing detector 9, which demodulates and outputs two kinds of color difference signals. Those color difference signals are supplied to gate circuit 11 to lead out a line sequential signal where two kinds of color difference signals appear alternately in every horizontal scanning period. A signal obtained by amplitude-modulating this linear signal is supplied to adder circuit 8 and the phase-modulated luminance signal and amplitude modulated signals are outputted being multiplied in frequency-division mode.
