Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of the abnormal tube currents, by providing a current feedback path from the metal portion of an X-ray tube, said metal protion being disposed in the middle part of the tube and facing the cathode and the anode target. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray tube 1, whose vacuum envelope has a middle metal portion 3 facing the cathode and the anode target, is connected to the secondary windings of a filament transformer 4 and an anode transformer 5, and a current detector 8 such as an ammeter is connected in a current feedback circuit 7 provided between the metal portion 3 of the X-ray tube 1 and the ground. The detector detects the change in the current flowing into the current feedback path 7. Thus, overheating of the anode target etc. are easily detected by utilizing the detection of the large variation of the current occurring in an abnormal state and further a precise measurement of the tube current can also be effected.
