Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the power loss of a power steering device for a ship or the like by reducing the insensitive zone in a steering servo guide valve to thereby improve the steering accuracy and restricting the discharge of a pump to a minimum limit.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 12 and a center pressure port block type servo guide valve 10 are interposed between a variable capacity pump 13 and an actuator 15 in a power steering device. A branch line 17 branched from the upstream side of the valve 12 is connected through a normally closed pressure control valve 19 to the discharge control cylinder 22 of the pump 13. The vent passage 23 of the valve 19 is connected to a load feedback passage 33 formed in the valve 10. There is formed a changeover unit 25 which connects the passage 33 to a tank 14a when the valve 10 is at neutral position and connects it to the downstream side of the valve 12 when the valve 10 is connected except at the neutral position, in the valve 10.
