Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out an automatic frequency adjustment for the semiconductor direct oscillator by adjusting and selecting properly the pass band of the filter, and thus to stabilize the oscillation frequency. CONSTITUTION:The frequency is adjusted via machine tuning screw 5, and at the same time semiconductor variable capacity element (varactor) 11 is loaded into the cavity. Thus, an automatic adjustment is given to the frequency via the bias voltage to be applied. In other words, when the frequency becomes higher than desired frequency f0 of the oscillation frequency, the difference voltage of comparator 10 becomes positive by the characteristics of filter 6 and 7 plus detector 8 and 9. If the output voltage is offset to V0 when the difference voltage of comparator 10 is 0, the application voltage to varactor 11 becomes higher than V0 via varactor application voltage control circuit 12. And the originating frequency is lowered to be steady at f0. While if the application voltage is lower than V0, the oscillation frequency becomes high to also stabilize f0.
