The amplitude of socillator 7 is controlled by gain regulator 13 which changes the gain of amplifier 12 provided between reference oscillator 14 and oscillator 7. The observation visual field on display unit 10 is determined by the movement width of sample holding stand 5, and the movement width of sample holding stand 5 is determined by the amplitude of oscillator 7.
