Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease unevenness of an atomized amount by a method wherein an upper diameter of a packing for an ultrasonic atomizer is made to be smaller than a lower diameter thereof and a ratio in size of the upper diameter to a diameter of a second electrode is made to be a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: An upper surface portion of a disc type ultrasonic vibrating element 12 is faced to an opening portion of an atomizing chamber and a peripheral portion of the vibrating element 12 is attached to the atomizing chamber tightly against liquid through a packing 15. First electrode 13 is provided on the upper surface including the peripheral portion of the vibrating element 12 while second electrode 14 is provided on a lower surface thereof and liquid within the atomizing chamber is atomized by ultrasonic wave from the vibrating element 12. In this case, a diameter of the second electrode 14 is made to be d11, an upper diameter d13 of the packing 15 is made to be than a lower diameter d12 thereof, a part of the packing 15 is projected into the liquid at an upper portion of the vibrating element 12, and a ratio of the diameter d13 to the diameter d11 is selected to be d13/d11=0.6W0.92 when the predetermined electrode is used and a predetermined electric power is impressed. According to this method, only plane waves are radiated from only a central portion of the virator 12, a configuration of a liquid column is made consant and unevenness of an atomized amount is decreased.
