Abstract
PURPOSE: To regenerate the die, and to make possible the long-term reuse, by applying the etching to entire surface on the stamping side of the die.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of the die 1 is thoroughly degreased and cleaned with the solvent, and the surface except the stamping side is covered with the masking tape 5; and the entire stamping surface is etched. The ferric chloride solution is employed for the etching work; the old solution used in manufacturing the die is better than the fresh solution because of the milder action giving better result. By several times repeating the dipping of the stamping side of the die into the etching solution in order to etch entire surface; the condition of die surface gradually transfers from the curve A, curve B, to the curve C; hereby, the die edge 2 becomes sharp, and the sharpness and the stripping property are restored. Hereupon, since the inner moat of the die is formed slightly shallow, if the inner moat is prepared so as to be deep before the die is to be manufactured, several repetitions of regeneration and reuse become possible.
