Abstract

PURPOSE: To capture, absorb and clean the contaminants in air or gas with good efficiency by causing gas-liquid contact in the spacings of the passages formed by the combination of concave face parts, bend wall members, drum having undulations, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The washing liquid selected depending upon the characteristics of the gas to be treated is fed through feed pipe 26 into a liquid receiving vessel 6 and is overflowed from a wall end 6a and is flowed down in film form on the liquid washing wall 3 surface. The gas to be treated is admitted by the suction of an exhaust fan 22, is sucked through 28 and is let to capture particle groups on the liquid film of the liquid washing wall 3, after which it passes through the passage of a guide plate 4 and liquid washing wall bottom end 3a then through the spacing with a rotary drum 27 and is contacted with the liquid drops projected by the centrifigual force of this drum 27. Further, while it is being passed through the pressages 13, 16, 17 formed by concave face parts 10, 12a, 14, guide walls 11, 14, it is contacted with the liquid surface W. After it is passed through a demister 18 and adsorption chamber 20, it is discharged into the atmosphere.
