Abstract

PURPOSE: To reverse the direction of rotation of a driven permanent magnet of a magnetic coupling, by changing the connecting relation between a drive permanent magnet and a driven permanent magnet.
CONSTITUTION: A desired number of magnetic poles N, S are provided at circumferential portions of a drive permanent magnet 1 and a driven permanent magnet 5. Assuming that a drive shaft 2 is rotated in the direction of an arrow by a motor, the drive permanent magnet 1 is rotated in the same direction to cause the driven permanent magnet 5 and a driven shaft 6 to be also rotated in the same direction. As a result, a rack 9 is moved in the direction of an arrow via a gear 7 a pinion 8. When a lever 3 is operated to change the connecting relation between the permanent magnets 1, 5 as shown in Fig. A to the connecting relation therebetween as shown in Fig. B, the direction of rotation of the driven permanent magnet 5 or the direction of movement of the rack 9 is reversed.
