Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain proper air fuel ratio by overcharging secondary air into a suction pipe in the operational range of rich fuel overcharging during acceleration of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: A secondary air regulator A has a secondary compressed air supply pipe 3' connected with a compressed air storage tank 1 and a communication pipe 33 connected with a suction pipe 32. The regulator A accomodates a rotation shaft 10 which, partially exposed out of the device, opens or closes a valve not shown, to vary the amount of air sent from the supply pipe 3' to the communication pipe 33. The shaft 10 interlocks with an air cylinder 2 by an operation link 13 and expandable operation link 17. A compressed air pipe 3 having an electromagnetic regulation valve 6 connects the inside of the air cylinder 2 with the storage tank 1. An acceleration by an acceleration pedal 5 opens the valve 6 to cause the shaft to turn, which increases the amount of air fed into the suction pipe 32.
