Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in the imaging performance of the wide- angle lens of small telephoto ratio and short constitution length by correcting refractive power to a range having nearly good imaging performance in the front group and making the balance of astigmatism and coma aberration good in the rear group.
CONSTITUTION: The positive lens of the front group is made into two elements of positive meniscus lenses to share the positive refractive power so that the need for providing a positive refractive face of extremely strong curvature is eliminated. Further, the negative refractive power is shared by a negative meniscus lens and the air lens having the negative refractive action between the 2nd group and 3rd group, whereby the improvement in the imaging performance is achieved. By the operation of the front group as in this way, the spherical aberation, astigmatism, distortion aberration, curvature of field and symmetry of coma are sufficiently improved but further the coma flare is corrected by suitably selecting the spacing between the front group and rear group. To this end, the lens is so arranged as to satisfy the conditions of formulas 1W5. In this way, the imaging performance may be improved on the overall image plane.
