Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve bonding efficiency by using an adapter provided with a flange for fusion welding in bonding stainless steel pipes through heat fusion welding.
CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel made flange 5 is supported to the outside circumference at the center of an adapter 1 made of metal. Next, stainless steel pipes 6, 6 are inserted and fitted onto the adapter 1 from its both ends toward the flange 5. The end faces of the stainless steel pipes 6, 6 are then opposedly contacted by way of the flange 5. Thence, the nozzle 8 of an argon welding machine is directed to the flange 5 protruded to the outer side of the steel pipes 6, 6 and the flange 5 is heat-fusion-welded with the end faces as filler metal. After the beads 5" by the flange 5 are formed in this way, they are finished through grinding or the like.
