Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable coloring agent and magnetic powder to be readily and evenly dispersed by mixing and processing coloring agents and magnetic powder in a water emulsion of a specific resin then letting the same disperse in a thermoplastic resin.
CONSTITUTION: Vinyl monomer having alkyl chains of C6 or more is emulsion- polymerized in water, whereby an emulsion comprising dispersing resin fine particles of about 10Å to 2μ in water is obtained. This water dispersion and coloring agents or magnetic powder are mixed at a specified ratio. The mixture obtained in the paste form including water is directly mixed with a thermoplastic resin as a resin binder for pressure fixing toner without being dried and undergoes kneading and dehydrating simultaneousely in a hot molten state in a hot kneader or the like. The kneaded product having been evenly and well dispersed is subjected to grinding and classification, whereby the toner of a desired grain size is produced.
